Chris joined FBC in March of 2020. He is originally from St. Louis. He is married to his lovely bride, Jana, of 19 years, and she is an amazing ministry partner and loves to serve the church. Chris and Jana have 3 fantastic teenagers (Lydia, Reece and Bennett). In his free time, he loves to hunt and loves all things sports related, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers!

Chris graduated from Missouri Baptist College (now University) in 1998 with a B.A. in Christian Education and then went on to graduate in 2001 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Fort Worth, TX) with an M.A. in Christian Education. He recently graduated from Southern Theological Seminary with his Masters in Theology and will finish his Doctorate of Education in Family Ministry at a later date.

Beginning in Student Ministry back in 1998, Chris continued in Student/Family and Educational ministries, till God turned his heart towards becoming a Senior Pastor. As a Senior Pastor, there is nothing more important than being used by God to shepherd His flock, to train and equip others in ministry, and to send them out (Ephesians 4:12). Chris believes that the church is called to get outside it's walls and share the good news of Christ with as many people as possible! We are called to be the light that shows the world our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). In the process, we are called to become less, while Christ becomes more in our lives (John 3:30)!

My prayer for the body of FBC Boonville, is that we will be used by God, for His glory, to advance the gospel in our community and abroad. There are many talents and gifts that He wants to use thorugh His people, to spread His message to a world that needs to hear, now more than ever.

I pray that you will be encouraged and strengthened by this amazing and loving church family, and that Christ will bless you with a love and grace that only He can give!

First and foremost, I am a sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. I have a beautiful and loving wife, Alicia, to whom I have been married for over twenty-three years. She is my helpmate in life and ministry. We have two wonderful teenagers, Zebadiah (Zeb) and Abigail (Abi).

God called me from Washington State to Missouri to become the Associate Pastor of Music and Youth here at FBC Boonville in December of 2016. Words cannot expressed how blessed my family has been to serve Christ as part of this church body. Prior to becoming a pastor, I had volunteered extensively in the youth, musical worship, and acting ministries for over seventeen years at two different churches. During that time, I also had the privilege to serve over six years as a singer/songwriter with the Christian rock band Racing 24/7 (previously called Broken) to glorify God by reaching out beyond the walls of the church building to share God's grace through music. With Racing 24/7, I played rhythm guitar, sang background vocals, served as the spiritual leader, and wrote, co-arranged, and co-produced several original songs. Our band recorded and released two CDs, entitled “Psalm 51:17” and “Trust and Believe,” did three short tours along the west coast, and locally shared the stage to open for 33 Miles, Building 429, Todd Agnew, Big Daddy Weave, Aaron Shust, Rush of Fools, and others.

To support my family prior to serving in full-time ministry, I was a professional engineer in Washington State for over twenty years. In my last job as an engineer, I was an engineering supervisor for Bechtel National, Inc. designing a waste treatment plant to process and immobilize approximately fifty-five million gallons of radioactive liquid waste in glass. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University and recently earned a Masters Degree in Ministry with a Worship Cognate.

I enjoy spending time with my family, leading musical worship, leading youth ministry, writing and recording Christian music, and playing sports, such as basketball, football, volleyball, and golf. All of my accomplishments have only been possible with God. “To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Phil 4:20).

God is good,

David Evans
